The principal of Sydney Migration Specialists, Marina Matushenko, is based in Sydney. She holds a Bachelor of Laws degree awarded by the Far Eastern National University in Russia, as well as a double Bachelor of Arts/ Bachelor of Laws degree obtained at the University of New South Wales, Australia.
Following successful completion of her Australian degrees she was awarded a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice by the Sydney College of Law. Marina is admitted to practice as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of New South Wales and is a member of the Law Society of New South Wales. She is practicing in the capacity of a registered migration agent.
We operate under a strict Code of Conduct which is administered by the Migration Agents Registration Authority, to ensure the highest standard of professional conduct in all our dealings with customers. To maintain registration Marina regularly undertakes Continued Professional Development courses to update her knowledge of the migration regulations, case law and policy.
Since completing her education Marina has practised almost exclusively in immigration law. Having the benefit of formal legal education and qualifications in two jurisdictions combined with migration agent registration sets her apart from the bulk of people who provide immigration advice and assistance to clients in Australia and off-shore.
This industry is notorious for its abundance of migration agents of questionable competence who lack professional integrity and who are devoid of moral values, ethical standards and business acumen that are, essentially, the trade marks of lawyers. Marina’s legal training allows her to set an example of a different kind. She prides herself on her attention to detail that saves her clients a lot of time and money. Marina is committed to her professional development and advances her knowledge of immigration legislation and policy by keeping abreast of the constant changes in this complex area of law. She appreciates the subtle nuances of migration regulations that can be critical in dealing with sophisticated immigration matters.
In addition, Marina is accredited as a Professional Translator (level 3) from English into Russian and from Russian into English by the National Accreditation Authority for Translators and Interpreters (NAATI) and provides outstanding translation services to her Russian migration clients at no extra cost.
Being a migrant herself, Marina is also extremely sensitive to the needs of people of various ethnic backgrounds and deeply respects their cultural differences.
